Classes

I've taught classes on and off for a number of years, these have ranged from demonstrations with the local WRI, messy, fun classes with my daughters primary school to full day workshops with the Moray Sugarcrafters, all have been really fulfilling. Now I run sugarcraft classes from my home in Glenlivet throughout the year, covering cupcake decoration through to the ever fashionable chocolate drip cake classes, with attendees travelling in from all over.

Below are the classes that I am currently running for early 2018, however, these will be update as the seasons change, so do pop back on a regular basis to see what's new

All Things Vintage
This half day class runs from 1pm - 5pm mid-week or on a Saturday afternoon with a price of £49 per person.
Everything will be provided for you, including 12 naked cupcakes ready for you to decorate, decorating ingredients & equipment. All you need to bring is yourself and an apron.
You will learn:
The best way to prepare cupcakes for decorating.
How to make the very chic and on trend perfectly domed fondant cupcake.
How to make stunning vintage decorations using a variety of sugarcraft methods, including cutters, moulds and simply by hand.

You'll leave with 12 beautifully decorated cupcakes in their own presentation box, a tool list and where to buy them, plus a worksheet, including recipes, so that you can recreate your masterpieces at home.

Springtime Cupcake Class
This half day class runs from 1pm - 5pm mid-week or on a Saturday afternoon and is a fantastic introduction to cake decorating.
Everything will be provided for you, including 12 naked cupcakes ready for you to decorate, decorating ingredients & equipment. All you need to bring is yourself and an apron.
You will learn:
The best way to prepare cupcakes for decorating.
How to make simple sugar decorations, both with and without cutters.
How to pipe perfect large buttercream roses.
How to cover cupcakes with perfectly smooth fondant ready to decorate with your handmade flowers.
And to finish, you'll master a few Royal Icing techniques to add a final flourish.
You'll leave with 12 beautifully decorated cupcakes in their own presentation box, a tool list and where to buy them, plus a worksheet, including recipes, so that you can recreate your masterpieces at home.

Mermaids & Pearls Cupcake Classes

This half day class runs from 1pm - 5pm on a Saturday afternoon. Mid-week sessions can also be arranged. The price for this class is £45 per person.
Everything will be provided for you, including 12 naked cupcakes ready for you to decorate, decorating ingredients & equipment. All you need to bring is yourself and an apron.
You will learn:
The best way to prepare cupcakes for decorating.
How to use a variety of modelling tools.
The best way to work with modelling paste.
How to use Flexi-moulds.
Colouring buttercream.
How to pipe the perfect buttercream bases to attach your decorations to.
You'll leave with 12 cute cupcakes in their own presentation box, a tool list and where to buy them, plus a worksheet, including recipes, so you can recreate your masterpieces at home.

Flawless Fondant
A full days class, held on a Saturday, from 10am -4 pm (Week day classes can be arranged) The price is £75pp and has only a maximum of 2 attendees.
Once again you will be provided with everything you need, including one naked chocolate cake, all decorating ingredients and equipment. All you need to bring is yourself, your lunch and an apron.
You will learn:
How to split, level and fill and 8" round vanilla sponge, ready for a crumb coat of ganache.
How to cover your cake in a smooth layer of white chocolate ganache, to give a perfect base for that all important flawless fondant.
How to cover your cake with fondant and get that perfectly smooth finish, ready for decorating.
And, if time allows we will prepare a few simple decorations with which to adorn your masterpiece with.
You'll take home your 8", deep filled vanilla creation, along with a worksheet and recipe pack for you to recreate your masterpiece for your nearest & dearest.

Chocolate Drip Class
A full days class, held on a Saturday, from 10am -4 pm (Week day classes can be arranged) This class has only a maximum of 2 attendees.
Once again you will be provided with everything you need, including one naked chocolate cake, all decorating ingredients and equipment. All you need to bring is yourself, your lunch and an apron. We're working with chocolate we will get messy!

You will learn:
How to split, level and fill and 8" round chocolate cake, ready for ganaching.
How to cover your cake in a smooth layer of white chocolate ganache.
How to create delicious chocolate shards
How to make quick & easy chocolate truffles.
To make the perfect drip effect.
To decorate your cake using all your handmade chocolate decorations.
You'll take home your 8", deep filled chocolate creation, decorated in one of the latest cake trends, along with a worksheet and recipe pack for you to recreate your masterpiece for your nearest & dearest.

Sugar Flower Classes
There are no specific dates for this class, just give me a call or drop me a line to arrange a mutually convenient time. Classes run from 10am - 4pm.

All pastes, tools and equipment will be provided for you to produce beautiful, realistic sugar flowers. You will need to bring yourself, an apron and your lunch.

You will learn:
How to work confidently with flower paste, using tools, cutters and veiners to create petals, centres and leaves.
How to use petal dusts to add depth and colour to your creations.
How to make two large blooms, elegant filler flowers and leaves, time permitting.
How to wire your sugar flowers to make a spray arrangement.
You will come away from the class with a selection of stunning sugarflowers, ready to apply to any of your creations at home. Plus, a worksheet and equipment list, so you can continue with your new found skill.
For private 1-1 tuition, the cost will be £85.

Chocolate Overload Cupcakes
This half day class runs from 1pm - 5pm on a Saturday or Wednesday afternoon on the following dates: 9th May, 16th June (Now fully booked), 2018.
Once again you will be provided with everything you need, including 12 chocolate cupcakes, all decorating ingredients and equipment. All you need to bring is yourself, an apron (and some willpower). We're working with chocolate we will get messy!

I will 'demo' how to make homemade modelling chocolate, which you will then have fun turning into fabulous decorations.
You will also use lustre dusts on your creations, to bring them to life.
You'll have a turn at making chocolate bark shards, with which to add even more of a flourish to your cakes.
And then to finish, you will quite literally, 'Overload' 12 freshly baked chocolate cupcakes, with lashings of rich chocolate buttercream and all the delicious goodies you have made during the afternoon.
You'll leave with 12 Chocolate Overload Cupcakes in their own presentation box, a tool list and where to buy them, plus a worksheet including recipes, so that you can recreate your masterpieces back at home. Gift Vouchers are available for this class.


Baking Days
Classes run from 10:30am - 3:00pm on a mutually convenient Monday or Wednesday.
Everything will be provided for you, all equipment and ingredients, just bring your lunch and an apron.
You will join me in my kitchen for a day of baking, where I will work with you on a 1:1 basis, guiding you through recipes and work schedules to give you more confidence.

You will take home:
One light and fluffy Victoria Sponge, filled with vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam.
12 chocolate cupcakes with a caramel filling and topped with a chocolate buttercream swirl.
One tangy lemon drizzle cake.
All of these freeze beautifully, so please don't feel that you've got an awful lot of cake to eat at once, unless of course that's your aim!

T&C's
All classes are booked on a first come first served basis, with full payment due at the time of booking to secure your place. You will be notified when payment has been successfully received. If you are unable to attend a class, please let me know at your earliest convenience, if I am able to fill your space I will try to offer a full/partial refund, however, if this is not possible unfortunately full payment will be retained. In the unlikely event that I should need to cancel a class, then a full refund or an alternative date will be offered.
